zebris Medical presents a groundbreaking innovation for digital temporomandibular joint registration at IDS 2025: the Splint & Attachment Designer. In combination with the digital facebow JMA-Optic, the new software enables the construction of occlusal splints and paraocclusal attachments, considering physiological movement patterns. Thanks to an efficient workflow and intelligent features, production is now more precise and easier than ever.
Optimized Workflow for Maximum Comfort
The process begins with uploading the scan data. Subsequently, the design of the support surface, material selection, and automatic proposal generation follow. The software prevents unwanted interpenetrations, ensuring a secure and precise fit. Depending on the indication, the occlusal splints can be designed in two variants:
- Comfort Therapy Splint (CTS): A simple, patient-friendly solution.
Positioning Therapy Splint (PTS): An advanced splint that integrates movement data from protrusion, opening, and closing movements.
Dynamic Grinding for Optimal Fit
A special highlight is the dynamic grinding function. The envelope curve is displayed in real time to visualize adjustments – an effective method for optimizing grinding processes and manufacturing highly precise dynamic splints. The intuitive user interface allows for the use of undercuts and easy adjustment of insertion directions.
Efficient Manufacturing with 3D Printing or Milling Technology
The finalized designs can be realized through both 3D printing and milling technology. The combination of digital recording, intelligent software support, and optimized manufacturing technology sets new standards in functional dental technology.
